Satellite Centre with LEIA

LEIA is the trade association and advisory body for the lift and escalator industry, formed in 1997 by the merging of two long standing associations with a history dating back to 1932. With a large membership covering the lift and escalator industry, LEIA represents a voice for the sector to include training and accredited National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ's).

Training Centre Direct Ltd has been a satellite centre with LEIA since 2006 and all relevant registrations and claims are processed through them including the EOR/202N titled "Working Safely in an Engineering Environment (Lift Safety)". Along with NVQ's, the EOR/202N has no pre-set start dates, which means that a candidate can be registered at any time of the year and lift engineers can progress at their own rate.

There is therefore no hard and fast guidance on the duration for completion of an NVQ. However as an indicator, a new entrant to the lift and escalator industry who has completed their first year basic training will take between two and three years to complete a level 3 NVQ.
